The Umbrella Academy season 1 review

The Umbrella Academy

(season 1)

A short summary: Luther (Tom Hopper), Diego (David CastaƱeda), Allison (Emmy Raver-Lampman), Klaus (Robert Sheehan), Vanya (Elliot Page[of x-men legacy, whose character does remind me of jean gray in the show {hint, hint}]) and Number Five (Aidan Gallagher) are brought back together by the death of their adoptive father (Colm Feore) in this series based on the comics and graphic novels by My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way; And now a tv show on Netflix.

My thoughts: The show revels in its weirdness, and yet seems too much more about the character relationships than their superhero antics. Not like "Doom Patrol" or "Titans" on  "DC Universe". Their use of time travel is interesting without being convoluted and I can't wait for the next season to come out on July 31st on Netflix.

Four out of five stars
